Hello, Today we published the May Security Bulletin Webcast Questions & Answers page, and the May 2012 Security Bulletin Release Webcast slide deck. During the webcast, we fielded 8 questions on various topics, including bulletins released, deployment tools, and update detection tools. We invite our customers to join us for the next public webcast on Wednesday, June 13 at 11am PDT (UTC -7), when we will go into detail about the June bulletin release and answer questions live on the air.

January 2012 ANS is released

Hello. Today we’re releasing our advance notification for the January security bulletin release, which is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10. This month’s release includes seven bulletins addressing eight vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Developer Tools And Software. As always, we recommend that customers review the ANS summary page for more information and prepare for the testing and deployment of these bulletins as soon as possible.

As we do every month, we’re providing a heads-up on what’s coming in this month’s release as well as offering links to more information so you can plan your deployment. This blog post was updated Sept. 5, 2011 below. Microsoft’s investigation into the scope and impact of the DigiNotar compromise has continued over the holiday weekend. We’ve now confirmed that spoofed certificates for *.microsoft.com and *.windowsupdate.com are among those issued by the Dutch firm. Users of Vista and later operating systems have been protected since we released Security Advisory 2607712 on August 29.

Hi everyone, Black Hat this year was really great. We spent a lot of time talking to people and getting new perspectives on the security landscape and of course, we announced the BlueHat Prize contest. The reaction to the contest was outstanding. In fact, within the first 24 hours, we had already received a few submissions and a bunch of questions indicating a lot of interest in winning the $200,000 grand prize.
