PDC from Alexandra's eyes

Hi all- my name is Alexandra Huft, I am a Security Program Manager within the Microsoft Security Response Center, and I’m new to the blog.

This being my first PDC I’ve attended,it has been amazing. It looks like a small swarm with all of dev’s that are attending this year. Last night we had the Microsoft reception which was seemed very much welcomed. We had lots of food and an abundance of drinks that would make anyone happy. J It was very interesting chatting with people about the MSRC. I was a tad surprised that not as many people know who we are and what we do. Simon, Craig, Jeff and I are trying to change that, one developer at a time.

I think the one thing that stood out the most is that for some, security is still not one of their main focuses. There were those of course, who have a high security focus and it was great to hear about different methods that they have implemented to either write better code for their customers or how they are working to better protect their own company. Lots of people looking forward to Friday where they are able to go learn more about the Security Development Lifecycle (SDL) and begin looking on how to incorporate it into their own company.

Still tons of SWAG being handed out and many going back to their hotel to offload and come back for more. All in all, this has been a great experience and I have met some amazing people.

More to come Live from the PDC soon.
