New email address for Microsoft security email notifications

4/13/2010 Update: The migration to the new mail system has not gone fully as planned but the good news in our update today is that we “will” be using a microsoft.com email address to send the security notifications to customers. The bad news is that PGP signing is not working correctly in the new system so the mailers going out today announcing our security bulletin release will not be signed. We will keep you posted.

Over the last several months we have been working with internal teams to migrate to a new email system for our technical security notifications. Today we ran in to an issue with the transition and will need to change the address the emails come from.

For reference, I am referring to the mailers you can sign up for at this page:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/dd252948.aspx

We highly recommend that users register for our comprehensive alerts if you have not done so already.

The old address is: microsoft@newsletters.microsoft.com

The new address is: securitynotifications@email.microsoftemail.com

The new address is: securitynotifications@e-mail.microsoft.com

Note that this address does not receive any email!

This is a permanent change effective immediately so please update any rules or filters you currently have in place. We apologize that we were not able to give you more advanced notice but the issue forcing this change was just discovered today.

Thank you,
