Hey, it’s Craig Gehre. Well today the MSRC released five new security updates. Four of the updates affect Windows, while the fifth affects Windows and Office. For those of you that are wondering, the first Windows update addresses the “createTextRange” issue you may have been following via our security advisory 917077. The complete list of updates is below:
* MS06-013 applies to Microsoft Windows and is rated critical.
* MS06-014 applies to Microsoft Windows and is rated critical.
* MS06-015 applies to Microsoft Windows and is rated critical.
* MS06-016 applies to Microsoft Windows and is rated important.
* MS06-017 applies to Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office and is rated moderate.
The bulletins went live this morning at approximately 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time but if you’re looking for more information you can find that here: http://www.microsoft.com/security/.
The monthly installment of the technology to remove malicious software from users systems is available today as well. This month’s update removes Win32/Locksky, Win32/Valla and Win32/Reatle. Customers can download the tool at www.microsoft.com/malwareremove.
Don’t forget to tune into the monthly technical webcast tomorrow at 11am Pacific Time and, as an added resource this month, you can tune into TechNet Radio to hear the new monthly interview with our very own Christopher Budd discussing this months’ updates as well: http://www.microsoft.com/tnradio.
Thanks,
Craig
