Hi everyone, Stephen Toulouse here. As we do each month I wanted to post about the Advance Notification for the Security Bulletin release for April.
This coming Tuesday, the 11th, we’re planning to release five security bulletins, 4 for Windows and 1 that affects both Windows and Office. One of the Windows bulletins will be the cumulative Internet Explorer update that will address the “CreateTextRange” vulnerability. Our test and engineering plan for that update that we began two weeks ago is on track to have that update ready for Tuesday. The IE team is still hard at work.
The maximum total severity rating for this month is Critical (the maximum for the Office and Windows one is Moderate), so please update systems as soon as possible when they are available on Tuesday. The updates can be deployed and detected with MBSA, Microsoft Update, and WSUS.
Also, like we do each month we’ll release an updated version of the Malicious Software Removal Tool. We’ll have more information available of course on Tuesday during the release.
S.
